Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What happens if I need to miss a session?
A: We record each meeting and post a replay in the private group Facebook page, so you can stay up to date with your group even if you need to miss a session. With that said, “the magic happens in the meeting,” so we ask you to plan ahead to attend EVERY SESSION POSSIBLE.
Q: I’m ready to register! Should I select the rank group I am working towards, my highest paid rank, or my current rank?
A: We suggest registering for your highest paid rank, unless you have not ever re-ranked or have not maintained that achievement level for a significant length of time. It is more beneficial to learn and work with other students whose leadership & organizational challenges align with yours than it is to work with people in a vastly different area of their business.
Q: All coaching times are listed as ‘MT’ – what does this mean?
A: We run all of our groups based on USA Mountain Time. This is the same time zone as Young Living’s corporate headquarters in Utah, so the most commonly known time to Young Living Distributors.
Q: What happens if the group date/time I register for doesn’t fill completely?
A: Because this is a small group coaching program that depends on group interaction, we need a minimum of 4 students (and a max of 7) per group to enhance the peer learning environment and give you the best experience possible. We will make every effort to accommodate your first choice of coaching days/times, but if needed, will contact you to select another time if we do not have the minimum number of students needed to confirm a group. If we cannot find a time that works for you that quarter, we will refund your payment and have you re-register for a future group day/time that works for you.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: You may cancel and/or reschedule up until 48 hours prior to the group’s first meeting. Because these programs are based upon a specific group size and depend on group interaction, we do not offer refunds once the meetings have begun.
Q: I have other obligations (homeschooling, young kids, driving home from work, etc.) at the beginning or end of the call (or during the entire time). Can I still participate?
A: Absolutely! We highly recommend that if given the choice between joining the call late or leaving early, you plan to come to the beginning of the call a bit late. The ‘meat’ of the exercises come at the end of the sessions, and you don’t want to miss those! Feel free to participate even if you have children in the house/are driving home from work, picking up kids, etc. You can mute your line when you aren’t speaking. HOWEVER, the more focused and interactive you are, the more you will get out of the program.
Q: I would really like to work with XYZ Coach. I’ve heard so much about them. Can I be assigned to their group?
A: We assign coaches to the groups only after all the groups are filled for the quarter, and usually do not know in advance who will be leading each group on a particular day/time. Feel free to list your preferred coach in the registration form when you complete your registration online. We will do our best to accommodate your request if possible.
Q: I would like to do this course with my spouse/business partner/crossline friend. Can we register for one student space and have both of us participate? (Or could they just sit to the side off-camera to listen, without participating?)
A: The Downline Leadership program is built upon a high level of individual interaction and accountability. Safety and confidentiality are key. Please do NOT have anyone else listen in on the coaching calls. We ask that participants (including spouses) register and pay individually.
Q: What do I “need” to participate?
A: Please register online to reserve your space.
Materials:
• For the 10-week Downline Leadership program, please order a copy of the Downline
Leadership book (we recommend the revised edition PRINT copy rather than Kindle).
• For DLL 2.0 & Team Building programs and Private 1:1 Coaching, your coach will send you any prep material in advance of each meeting).
Misc.:
• Be sure you have ZOOM video conferencing installed on your computer and mobile device in advance of the first call.
• A strong Wi-Fi connection makes for the best experience.
• Access to Facebook Groups.
• Headphones are nice to have if you will be dealing with any background noise.
Q: How much time and effort do the coaching programs require?
A: The length of each session and prep/follow-up work depends on the individual program.
• Downline Leadership meets weekly for 10 weeks for a 90-minute video call. In
addition to the meeting, students prepare for the following session by reading a chapter of the Downline Leadership book (~20 pages) and taking a few short notes while reading. There are short homework assignments and/or self-assigned action items that will APPLY what you are learning in the real world. The work directly relates to leading your team and is not a distraction or busy work.
• Downline Leadership 2.0 Advanced Coaching: A one-hour session every month for 10 months. There is minimal reading & minor prep/follow-up work. The majority of the time in this program is spent IN SESSION, doing exercises and workshops.
• Team Building: A one-hour session every week for 5 weeks. Minimal reading and minor preparation/follow-up work.
• Private Coaching: A one-hour session every other week for 6 sessions over 12 weeks. There is minimal prep (fill out a “Coaching Preparation” form every week). YOU decide on your action items & accountability for the next call.
Q: How do I set up a private group for my own team or hand-picked crossline friends, and how much does that cost compared to a regular group?
